Why should I put my children in a Christian School?
The best answer to this question is from the mother of a new second grade student in our school. She told me: “We take our children to Church and Sunday School, and we try to teach them Christian values at home, but then we put the on the public school bus and they’re exposed to a whole different set of values.”
As a Christian School it is our mission to work with parents and the local church to provide a quality education in a Christian atmosphere and present teaching and values consistent with those taught in the home and local Church. It is not our intent to replace the parents’ responsibility for training their children nor to take the place of regular attendance in Church and Sunday School.
In addition, it is not the job of the Christian School to reform delinquent children or to correct major learning disabilities. We do however accept and work with children who need some individualized instruction and fair, consistent, and firm discipline to help them understand and develop acceptable standards of behavior.
By definition we are a Christian School. This means that we will teach Christian values and behavior consistent with the Bible, God’s inerrant Word. While Tioga Center Christian School is part of the ministry of Tioga Center Baptist Church, this does not mean that enrollment in our school is limited to members of our Church or any particular denomination. Tioga Center Christian School accepts students of any faith as long as parents are willing to accept the teaching we provide.
